If you late, early or past main Naadam Festival in July, no worries you can enjoy Mini Naadam Festival. Today we’ll drive to Mongol Nomadic Camp for mini version of Naadam Festival. Naadam festival is three manly sports: wrestling, horse racing and archery that Mongolian nomads practice thousands of years.
We’ll pick up from your hotel at 9:30 in the morning. We’ll drive to Mongol Nomadic tourist camp. It takes around 2 hours. When we get there, we can see everyday, milking their goats, sheep and mare making and tasting dairy products, life of Mongolian nomadic family, movement of nomads by ox carts and a camel freight, making felt by wool of sheep, horseman show. We’ll have lunch in the ger camp. You’ll be welcomed and greeted for joining this festival. Mini Festival we’ll be opened by traditional long songs with horse headed fiddle by locals. Then start first around of wrestling tournament by 16 strong wrestlers. you will see the archery competition where contestants can only rely on his keen eye, firm hand and experience, take aim at a target of fist-sized baskets; and ankle bone shooting competition. Then most interesting part of festival is horse racing. Then we’ll see winners of the competitions and awarded with traditional gifts. You can take photo with winners. We’ll drive to Khustai National Park. Stay in ger camp or nomadic family
After breakfast to discover the natural beauty of the Hustai National Park. We’ll ride horses without time and space. We will visit small museum and to watch a short documentary film about national park and wild horse. The we’ll drive to the National Park’s core zone to see wild horses. Hike to the top of mountain gives you will have chance to see wild animals and plants. Keep your eyes peeled for a variety of animals including red deer, white tailed gazelle, wolves, steppe eagle and black vultures. A wonderful place to stay and experience Mongolian way of living no tv, no wifi, and lose your digital stress. You can help to family. For example, to bring animals, chop wood, clean animal cottage, and make dairy products. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
